Ministry of Tourism Wants to Connect Direct Flights to Phú Quốc

PHNOM PENH: The Ministry of Tourism is discussing plans to propose direct flights to Phú Quốc Island, Vietnam, to promote foreign tourism to Cambodia.

This proposed project is to connect direct flights from Siem Reap to Phú Quốc island, and vice versa.

This project was mentioned by the Minister of Tourism, Thong Khon, at the first meeting of the Tourism Promotion and Attraction Committee of the Siem Reap-Angkor Tourism Management and Development Commission on Monday, 8 August, in Phnom Penh.

It should be noted that in the first half of 2022, Cambodia received more than 500,000 international tourists, an increase of 394.1% compared to the same period in 2021. Siem Reap alone received 60,435 international tourists.

This project to study and prepare a special tour package in Siem Reap is to promote the movement of tourists to the province, with the aim of reaching about 500,000 tourists or more in 2023.
